Greek mythology retellings that capture the vibe of Hades II?

I know, I know, there's plenty of them, but that is exactly my problem: Where do I begin? I have never been particularly interested in mythology retellings and always take overhyped books with a pinch of salt, but I recently started playing Hades II and now want to dip my toes into retellings about Greek mythology a bit more. Which books would you say are worth the hype?
