I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of theflowerletters.com, a subscription where you get fictional letters every month for a year that tell a story of historical fiction. While I love the idea, none of its particular stories have really drew me in, so I never subscribed.
I’ve been seeing similar subscriptions recently and one that caught my eye was murdermysterymail.com. Its stories (Titanic Letters, Salem Letters, Asylum Letters) sound intriguing, but I’m a little wary that it seems like it could be a scam. It claims to have sold over 650k subscriptions but that seems farfetched. Other than ads, its social media presence is very limited, and is heavy on AI graphics, etc. Unlike the Flower Letters I haven’t found anything that look like photos of people actually looking at the letters or anything like that. While the stories sound great and the website itself shows good reviews, I just worry it’s really AI generated slop, if I were to get anything at all.
TLDR I’m just wondering if anyone has experience with Murder Mystery Mail or any of these monthly letter/story subscriptions, and if so if you’d recommend.
