Hi! I read the book Sphere by Michael Crichton a few years ago and the concept of finding a mysterious, possibly alien object deep in the sea really stuck with me. I've googled and not found much that seems like it would scratch that itch for blending sci-fi exploration with deep sea exploration (and maybe a dash of horror too).
Does anyone have any suggestions that might help me find something similar?

just finished the deep by nick cutter and omg it’s literally what you’re looking for.. deep ocean lab setting with some seriously freaky stuff happening. couldn’t sleep after.
Try the Deep sea exploring hero Dirk Pitt in the books by Clive cussler.
Into The Drowning Deep by Mira Grant (horror pen name of Seanan McGuire).
Deep Storm by Lincoln Child.
The Deep by Nick Cutter ( I DnFD this one) but it gets recommended a lot.
Under Pressure by Frank Herbert.
