Books about the fight for rights? (Preferably unusual/fictitious)

I'm looking for books about main characters fighting for rights, very heavily preferably more about "unusual"/fictitious rights (as in, rights for bots, etc.) instead of actual/non-fiction current-world fights for rights. (I don't really want to think about actual problems, hehe!)

I'm currently reading Automatic Noodle and I feel like that one kinda fits, for a pointer to what I mean.
