Hey there!
I'm a teacher and I have a really smart student who developed an interest by World War II and the holocaust.
So far she has read Anne Franke's Diary and Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl.
She asked me to recommend her some books but the ones I know might be a bit too dark
I thought about recommending:
- Night – Eli Wiesel
- Maus – Art Spiegelmann
But, both works can be kinda dark. I've never read Anne Franke, so I don't know how it compares to Wiesel's work, for example.
Any recomendations?
Are the books I cited good suggestions for a 13 year old girl?
Thank you all beforehand!

I think I read this around similar-ish time frame but Boy in the Striped Pajamas is good and sad but not necessarily dark from what I remember a million years ago
