Hi everyone! I’m buying for a young lady this Christmas, she’s 18 and she really likes book. She’s asked for the following books: Girl in Pieces by Kathleen Glasglow, Valerie and her week of wonders by Vítězslav Nezval and I who have never known men by Jacqueline Harpman. I like to read as well, so I thought along with a gift card to one of bookstores, I’d include a new book as well. I have a general idea of what her reading style is unfortunately I’m double her age and read things that could fit into the strong female lead who’s fighting some oppression but are very dark and heavy. I don’t want to overwhelm her with something like that. I’m looking for any recommendations! I should say it sounds like she also may be a Booktok girly so if you have any suggestions that are appropriate and a deep cut that maybe isn’t talked about too much on booktok, that might be even more helpful, but all is appreciated!!
