New to reading novels — any recommendations?

Hey everyone,
I’m kinda new to reading and I’m curious to get into actual novels.
The only books I’ve read before were A Tale of Two Cities, The Black Tulip, and Treasure Island — but they were the very short, simplified versions, not the full ones.

Recently I’ve been wanting to try some real, emotional novels. I’m a big fan of story-heavy video games like Life is Strange, Omori, The Last of Us, Telltale Games, Edith Finch, etc. Anything that hits hard emotionally or has a really strong vibe usually sticks with me.

So yeah, if you have any favorites you think someone like me should start with, I’d love to hear them.
