So as a me is one to do I read a good bit. I read mostly Fantasy, SF, and Crime/Mystery fiction. I wanna focus on the last one though. As much as I love the series I'm currently going through with my dapper lads who like to learn about a good stab (Current examples: Travis McGee, Charlie Parker, Adam Dalgliesh, etc) and legit got into reading because of the wonderful Dresden Files (I know its more fantasy but shush) I want something newer. The thing is I tend to not super jell with stuff about law enforcement without some major spin so every time I've looked for a modern day set mystery series I get a hand full of stuff about cops (Bosch does seem good but its not where I'm landing rn and started in the 90s) and struggle to find anything like my darling Travis McGee or anything Lawrence Block has ever written. I just want something that has started within the last ten years, and is still going (I want to be able to get excited about new books and not just come into something pre finished or 20 books deep for once as much as I do legit adore going through a 20 book backlog), preferably not about a cop but if its really strong I'm willing to deal with it (For example; I got past Castle trying to be a police procedural for a few episodes before learning its lead actor was to funny and shifting the tone).
If you can't think of anything because this is too specific feel free to just drop any still ongoing detective mystery series. I still always want to add more to the list :]

Sharpe and Walker series by Lee Goldberg. First one is Malibu Burning (Arson investigators with the LAPD)
IQ series by Joe Ide (PI)
If you’d be interested in another fantasy mystery, then Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire comes to mind
