I’ve read the complete short fiction collections of George Saunders (CivilWarLand in Bad Decline, Pastoralia, In Persuasion Nation, Tenth of December, Liberation Day) and I am currently about halfway through the complete adult short fiction of Roald Dahl (he’s an incredible short story writer btw!).
I own a couple anthologies, but haven’t found them to be as enjoyable as collections by authors I like. For example I started reading Worlds of Fiction edited by Roberta Rubenstein and Charles R Larson, and have just found it so boring overall.
I’m thinking the O Henry Prize story collections might be a better place to start. What do you recommend? I want to diversify which writers I read from.
