A book that encapsulates slowness without being slow myself

I’m open to other genres. I always felt Rendezvous with Rama was the essence of Wonder. Ann Leckie has a book that covers eons from the perspective of a boulder (sort of), The Raven Tower. I’m wondering if anyone can recommend something along those lines. A scale of eons but in which long decisions matter but are maybe treated like normal paced plot? I don’t know exactly. I want it to feel like I’m observing eternity but for it to be a page turner as well.
