i want to read more sapphic literature, so i want to ask for recommendations.
but the thing is, i'm not really interested in love stories that read like basic fanfiction love stories or these kind of books where the cover art looks all the same like the hetero romance that is dominating the book shops these days – i don't mean that in a negative way, i read fanfiction as well and i'm so happy that we have so many sapphic romance books on the same shelves as the other ones, but that's not what i'm looking for at the moment
i'm looking for more… subtle(?) stories, maybe where the love story isn't the main plot or where the love story is integrated well into a sophisticated topic the book touches upon. i love philosophic, slice of life, and calm kind of novels, so basically what i'm looking for is calm, adult, sophisticated kind of stuff …
i honestly do not know if this is too niche of an ask or if i even got my point across because turns out it's harder than i thought to be articulate with my explanation haha
