Hi everyone! I am currently just feeling like life is pretty bland and less beautiful, I was hoping someone may have some good recommendations for books that feel whimiscal and fun and make you want to live more magically as a result. I'd prefer more leaning non-fiction books that may begin sadder and get happier with important lessons. Maybe including mental health and a lot of relatability! I want to be able to look at the mundanity of life and see beauty even in that at the end!
I would prefer to avoid books with vivid descriptions of violent subjects of any sort.
THAAANNKKK YOU EVERYONE!!

Perhaps you would like The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green.
Not exactly what you asked for, but this fiction book absolutely brings JOY: The Eyes and the Impossible, by Dave Eggers.
Maybe try Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed? Or Angela’s Ashes by Frank McCourt, one of the saddest books I’ve ever read but I also laughed and laughed
I don’t read a ton of non-fiction books so I’m sorry I can’t help with those recommendations but I really love The Monk and The Robot duology by Becky Chambers.
If those pique your interest then I’d also recommend the following for a similar vibe, although admittedly not as poetic and more story driven:
In the Lives of Puppets by TJ Klune
Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune
Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree
Bookshops & Bonedust by Travis Baldree
Dreadful by Caitlin Rozakis! Evil wizard with amnesia wakes and basically fakes it till he makes it until he starts questioning how he got there and if he wants to stay morally corrupt. And oh, he has a princess sacrifice in his dungeon he doesn’t know about.
Fiction :
Midnight Library
Night Circus
Guncle
My Friends, Fredrik Backman
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine
The House in the Cerulean Sea and sequel
