Looking for a book that hits on concepts of everyday life and shapes and bends it until you can see a picture of our meaning beyond the physical. Something transcendent, ontological, existential, surreal, magical without magic. Cerebral but not just for aesthetics. Not word fluffy but conceptually and/or visually lush. I like when it feels like each word matters and is intentional. So it can be wordy, but not fluffy. If it paints vivid pictures—especially of the surreal—that’s a must read for me. Even a kids book that holds a message about “being”, meaning of life etc is good for me. I don’t care the genre, age level, length, or subject. Just that it makes me reflect on big picture meaning, the self, beyond the self, what existence is, or what could be. Commentary on society and our connection, ot lack thereof, to what it means to be human and the purpose. I do usually like female protagonists. I like fantasy, sci-fi settings without heavy magic, and real life settings.
Thank you for any help!
