Hello! Okay so during winter I like to read some lighter contemporary romance books to help me feel happy (think Emily Henry or Abby Jimenez). I usually enjoy reading these books but never love them. I think my reservations are that they are too close to reality (I value escapism in reading lol) and they don't tend to trust the reader enough (spend way too long explaining exactly how the characters feel). Does anyone have any genre or book recommendations for something beautifully written that might fill the need for a happy, nice book but in a different way? I already read tons of romantasy and fantasy, so maybe outside of that too!
