I usually put books on hold that take anywhere from 2-8 weeks to get to me. When they're ready, I'm always in the middle of something else. There's a 7 day window to pick up the book on hold, but I'm always rushing to finish whatever book I'm reading so I can get the next one. It makes it feel like more of an obligation than something enjoyable. Definitely a first world problem, but does anyone have a solution to this? Obviously I'm grateful to have such a great library to get pretty much any book I want and I realize that this is the tradeoff for that, but I'm curious if others feel the same way and how you manage it.

(Obviously buying books will solve the problem, but that's just not something I'm interested in)

    1. Well, take out the second book while you are still reading the first. Put it to the side, then finish the first book a little faster, so that you can finish the second book before it’s due back.

Why not pause reading whatever book you’re reading, read the library book, and then pick back up the other one?
