What book got you interested in reading again?

I have a relative that I'm close to like a brother. He's been going through a really hard time, had a horrible toxic relationship and eventual breakup and is really depressed. He's almost 50, loves Halloween and horror movies and has read biographies about rock bands singers in the past and also enjoys nonfiction and psychological genres. I would love to give him something for Christmas to help get him back into reading. Something that reminds him there are so many other stories out there. When I when through a really hard time someone got me The Goldfinch in 2013 and it reignited my interest in reading and gave me something to look forward to. I would love to do the same for him.
