My dear cat suddenly passed away two weeks ago. Since then, I found very hard to pick up a book to read. I read almost everyday, and as a creature of habit I am afraid if I don't come back to reading I will fall into a long reading slump. Any new book I have picked up has been DNF. I know it is not the book's fault, it is me.I would like to find something that can somewhat help me through this hard time.

Books I have enjoyed this year so far: Seven year slip by Ashley Poston, The Storied of A K Fikry by Gabreille Zevin, The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides, and Recursion by Blake Crouch.

Books I have DNF so far: Atmosphere by Taylor Reid, Billy Summer by Stephen King, The Thirteenth Child by Erin A.Craig, Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross, and Dracula (this is after my cat pass away so probably not the book fault).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
