Recap: I got cheated on over a year ago by the boy, because he definitely was not a fucking man, I thought I’d have forever with.
He had liked me since he was a sophomore and I was a junior. I was 16 and he was 15. We got together after he had chased me for TWO YEARS. He really liked me and we were in drama together where we had a play. In that play we were put as the male and female lead. We had to kiss several times, and the rehearsals, along with the scenes kind of just solidified our feelings for each other. Our story was a real romance one…but he fucking ruined it. (No surprise there, also no offense)
And we’re working on it now, going to therapy and trying to build what we have, though I know that’s not possible. It’ll never be the same. And I don’t want to hear anyone saying that we shouldn’t be together or that I should leave, we’re working on it. I just needed to get on here and ask for romance recs, ones with little to no smut. I’m okay with a bit, but I like plot and I used to adore the sensual and soft moments, now don’t get me wrong I LOVED the spice…but now I feel like lust is just too much in today’s society and in today’s literature and it’s kind of ruined my adoration for romance, I blame him but whatever, point it, I would really appreciate it if you guys could recommend me some soft and sweet romance books, high school sweethearts preferred, maybe it’ll heal my broken hopeless romantic heart.
