My daughter is 17 and was a victim of child SA. I have some nonfiction books for her in terms of help to go along with her therapy. I would like to find a fiction book where the character is dealing with CSA and I’d like for it to have a hopeful outcome. It doesn’t need to be this miraculous turn around or anything, but if the end shows the character will take steps toward recovery, that’s what I’m looking for.

Also, I have Speak and Perks of Being a Wallflower on my list.

    Thank you for any suggestions!

I was in a similar situation and was given the Clan of the Cave Bear/Earth’s Children series. It was life changing for me because it was the first time I’d read a book that clearly discussed SA and then consent. They’re also interesting and very well researched (I actually ran into someone on a book sub who did a thesis about the research in Earth’s Children). The second book has some fairly steamy scenes, but they’re very consent based and a good way for her to learn about healthy sexual behavior.

Book one is about surviving assault that the community considers normal, book two she is on her own then meets a man from a culture that reveres consent, third book she gets a found family, fourth book she saves and counsels other survivors, fifth and sixth books are okay.
