I got burned out reading books with a lot of characters, complex plots, etc. I just want something nice and cozy, but cozy fantasy as a genre (at least what I found) is focusing on romance. I also outgrew YA.

In a nutshell, I want something easy to read, not a lot of characters to keep track of, preferably a standalone, but trilogies are fine. I just want something to relax with before bed.

    Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Patricia Wrede’s The Book of Enchantments is my hear me out.  It contains short stories which are perfect for before bed,  and while some have romantic plots, many don’t.   Wrede is a YA writer, her writing is *extremely* good and doesn’t have a YA tang, if you know what I mean.  It’s more like her stories are appropriate for YA and some feature teenagers, but others are quite adult.

At the very least, it’s worth reading for
“Rikiki and the Wizard” and “The Sixty-two Curses of Caliph Arenschadd.”
