I want to gift a book to my bf. He's interested in history, especially the rome empire.
Please recommend me authors or good books you've read and why (preferably in easy to understand english as it's not his 1st language)
I also know he likes the Punic wars but it doesn't have to be about this period.

*Rubicon* and *Dynasty* by Tom Holland are great and easy to understand. They cover Julius Caesar and the Judo-Claudian Dynasty. They have both been translated into different languages too so you may find one in his native language.
