So I read this glee finchel fan fiction a couple days ago and it made me want to read more books similar cause I really liked it. So basically in the story Finn and Rachel are best friends since they were kids along with the rest of the group and Rachel secretly always liked Finn (surprise surprise) one day she finds out he got out of a relationship and decides to shoot her shot and confesses her feelings for him and he rejects her cause he doesn’t see her that way, she of course is heartbroken and tries one more time to convince him to give them a chance cause she knows they’d be good together and he says no for the same reason that he’s never seen her that way, she doesn’t cut him off or anything but things are understandably weird. A couple months go by and Finn starts to find himself feeling more than friendship type feelings Rachel but at this point she’s so focused on broadway she isn’t interested in any relationship at all so when Finn goes to confess his feelings she also rejects him the only difference is he didn’t give up and tries months to get her to go out with him but she won’t budge cause she wants to focus on her show and a lot of their friends especially Santana and Kurt (who’s his actual brother in the story) pick on him a lot cause he’s like a sad puppy cause he’s really desperate and he shows it. Flash forward to her opening night and Brody ends up asking her out after the show in front of Finn and she immediately says yes, hurt by this Finn ends up going home and Rachel goes to check on him after not seeing him he end up laying it all out about and asks why she would say yes to Brody and not him and after a while of talking she finally agrees to a date and the rest is history, there is a 3rd act breakup cause we have a reverse Ross and Rachel situation where Rachel makes a pros and cons list about Finn but I don’t mind 3rd act breakups but only if it’s the guy messing up and there’s a actual grovel
So this is basically what I’m looking for second chance books between childhood friends to lovers or it doesn’t even need to be that it could be best friends brother or brothers best friend or even just classic friends to lovers but I need it to be a second chance with unrequited love . I really would like book recs where MMC and FMC are best friends and FMC confesses to him she likes him but he rejects her, mainly cause he doesn’t see her that way or never let himself see her that way and she’s heartbroken and she starts distancing herself but their still good friends but things are weird now, months or years later mmc finds himself starting to like her back but she no longer has feelings for him and he spends most of the book trying to convince her to give them a chance
Bonus if she does get into a relationship especially after he keeps trying to woo her, I’d also like him to actually be loyal to his feelings for her, its always hard for me to buy the MMC liking her if he’s sleeping around.
I did read a love letter to whiskey and didn’t like it cause the FMC kept pissing me off
