has anyone purchased a book in "good" condition on thriftbooks?

the price point for a "very good" condition is a little bit higher than what i was hoping. that being said, i do not want to get a copy that falls apart in my hands upon opening.

i once ordered a book online used, but cannot remember the listed condition. it on the floor and the first 40 pages fell out, they were stuck together as a 40 page booklet, but fell out of the binding.

i always v cautious about buying used books, but the new copy of the book I'm thinking of is around $60 for a paperback… probably because it is technically a lit crit\theory textbook. ive had my eyes on it for a few weeks.

has anyone had luck with "good" condition on the site? whether it be good or bad?

    thanks.

I try to get Very Good or higher. It’s crazy, but the seller has a lot to do with the interpretation of the scale.

    2. I got an academic book from there that was “Good” condition and I had no problems. It was a used book from a library system.

    3. I just always only purchase from Thriftbooks if I’m okay with whatever condition the book comes in.

Meanwhile Pango always is from real book lovers and so I generally trust their condition tiers.

Yes, unfortunately what a seller considers good can be awful condition. I would complain. It’s always a crap shoot. I’ve bought some books listed in acceptable condition and they were immaculate.

The last good I bought had a cover that had clearly been chewed but the rest of it was perfectly fine
