One of my favorite fantasy series' is the one featuring SHIVER, LINGER and FOREVER by Maggie Stievater just because of how compassionately the characters are crafted and of the bonds they share.
Other faves include William Trevor's THE SILENCE IN THE GARDEN and also one called THE HILLS AT HOME by Nancy Clark.
I don't have the words to express what these realistic yet humane portrayals of togetherness–even in hard times–mean to me so will just stop here LOL.
