Hi guys, I'm starting to read books in English, and I'm in desperate need for recommendations.
Here are my criteria :

understandable English (not too difficult)
-
something somewhat lighthearted
-
I like adventure novels with characters fighting against something or a vile entity (secret society, group, cult etc)
-
preferred tropes : found family, forced proximity, slow burn, arranged (anything : marriage, deal etc)
Please keep in mind I'm not a native speaker and though I am at a C1 level, I do struggle with literary English at times.
Also, I do enjoy romance but as long as it is a side tropes and not the main point of the book.
