    Hey all,

So I saw that “books like Indiana Jones” is a popular question, and while I saw a few good suggestions, most people seemed to zero in on the swashbuckling, adventure aspect of those films. Just in case it matters, I would love to read a book that has the general feel of Indiana Jones, National Treasure, or the Tomb Raider game trilogy from the 2010’s: swashbuckling adventure, sure, but also a healthy dose of historical fiction—archeology, historical ties, ancient treasure, etc. I don’t care if the history isn’t perfect—it’s fiction, after all—but I’m looking for that historical lens on top of the adventure. Not just buried treasure or a roguish leading man/lady.

Note that I’m using “historical fiction” loosely, as I mean it more in the sense that “I know Egypt didn’t actually have a superpowered pharaoh that bound his soul to a powerful artifact,” not “this book is set in 1462 Rome.”

I appreciate any suggestions y’all might have! Let me know if I can help clarify anything.
