    Hello!

I'm a 22 year old guy who wants to get back into reading. I used to read all the time growing up but slowly stopped over the years, basically only reading school-assigned books back when I was in school. I've only read a handful of books over the past few years (with the exception of self-help books, which I now recognize really aren't as good as they seem). I did recently read Into the Wild and Into Thin Air which I really enjoyed, but not sure where to go from here

I want to read something fiction—I don't really care what it's about, but maybe something similar to all of the classic high school reading books or something related to the outdoors? I also like philosophy but find the classic works to be a bit much for me. Not sure if anything exists out there that incorporates all of these elements or that more experienced readers think I'd like. Thank you so much!

Philosophy and related to the outdoors?

The River Why by David James Duncan

Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah by Richard Bach

I would go with a top tier book like The Pillars of the Earth. It’s amazing writing and a literary masterpiece. It’s a good jumpstart to get back in and then you can branch into different genres if you like. Do you want more magic? More violence, more nonfiction, more historical elements, more mystery, thrills. Endless options, but The Pillars of the Earth is a great book by all measures!!!
