I would like a non-fiction book to prepare me to join a read-along of The Count of Monte Cristo.
I am open to anything from the architecture of French prisons, to legal theories of revenge, to a biography of Dumas, to Napoleonic-era fashion. I'm looking to feel immersed in the era and mindset. What do you recommend?
