I'd love to read some more novels such as those by Khaled Hosseini. It's been a while since I've read them but I remember there being a lot of tidbits about life in Afghanistan, some Pashto words here and there, etc. There was also of course direct explanations of the sociopolitical climate in the country. I loved all of that, but recommended books don't necessarily have to have the latter (though I'd prefer it if possible!).
I vaguely remember The Winner Stands Alone by Paulo Coelho also having a lot of information fed to the reader. Not cultural stuff but just general trivia. I'd be happy to take that sort of thing too!
Thank you
