I am interested in reading a book that explores not only the history of the Gothic tribe of Germany, but its history and influences on culture. Preferable tying into modern day renditions of Gothic culture, including the Goth subculture that spawned out of the post-punk era.
I know I could just go read Wikipedia entries, but I find that rather dry. I really enjoy reading books by experts on niche sub-fields of history and culture and see how the author draws connections and conclusions.
Preferably the book cites real world sources.
I know this is a long shot, but thanks in advance!
