I just finished The Will of the Many. I went in blind, not knowing anything about it. The first third really grabbed me, but I wasn’t expecting the rest of the book to stay almost entirely at a school and lean into a YA-style fantasy vibe. It’s not a style I personally enjoy, though I’ll admit the writing was excellent and the story was compelling.

What books or series dive more into the broader world—similar in tone to The Will of the Many (not the Greek-inspired aesthetic, but the larger power structures and navigating them)—without turning into “kid at a school” for most of the plot? I love strong writing and good prose, even if the story is a slow burn.
