I've either been on this sub or a similar one before and got some amazing recs so I am back to hunt for some more.
Some recent books I've listened to and really loved were:
The Gentleman Bastards series by Scott Lynch (please, please PLEASE give us book four soon.)
Priory of the Orange Tree and A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon
Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
Both the Hierarchy series by James Islington
Circe and Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
I liked but didn't love:
The Poppy War trilogy and Babel by R.F. Kuang
the Dune series by Frank Herbert
The Broken Earth trilogy N. K. Jemisin
The Powder Mage trilogy by Brian McClellan
The Lock Tomb Series by Tamsyn Muir
The Licanius Trilogy by James Islington
I would love some recs that are A) either stand alones or B) Finished series — I cannot keep waiting for new books to come out! I know Wheel of Time is a popular one but I'm not sure I'm super keen on it. I don't mind a bit of romance but I prefer that not to be the main plot. Nothing super spicy but a little bit is fine. Fantasy or Sci-fi first and the rest secodnary is how I would discribe my taste.
Currently coming out of a divorce where cheating was a major issue preferably nothing that focus a romance on cheating or getting with the other woman please! But otherwise would love any and all recs!
