I’m not talking about self help, “how to be an alpha male and influence people” books (since that seems to be the only thing that comes up when I search the topic). I mean what books – fiction or non-fiction – would you consider to be must-reads or very interesting for guys in their 20s? Thanks in advance.

Lonesome Dove; the Takeshi Kovacs series; Blood Meridian; The New Dawn of Everything; Against the Grain; Guns, Germs & Steel; the Power Broker; American Tabloid.
Good mix of high-action fiction and substantive, methodical non-fiction.
Starship Troopers by Heinlein. Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Pirsig. The Little Prince by Saint-Exupery. Lonesome Dove by McMurtry. The Count of Monte Cristo by Dumas.
