Hey, i'm looking for a (preferably British) true crime book to give someone who loves watching true crime documentaries. She doesn't read books really so it would be great if it was beginner-friendly or had pictures or illustrations or something to make it easier or more fun. Preferably british ones please!
My best candidate right now is The Five: the untold lives of the women killed by Jack the ripper. But would ideally want something set a little later.
Very specific I know but thought I'd give it a shot. Thanks so much!

Not British (sorry) but a must read true crime book is “In Cold Blood” by Truman Capote. It was a first of its kind and literally started the true crime genre. About a 1959 murdered family in a small town in Kansas. The writing and story is so gripping you won’t even need pictures. Easy to read and follow I cannot imagine anyone into true crime not enjoying this book.
