I’ve tried limiting video-game/screen time and threatened removing it and YouTube completely but he thinks it’s the only way to have fun (despite doing a jigsaw puzzle with me and watching an occasional movie together). He has shown interest in basketball-themed books by Hena Kahn but treats those as required reading for read-aloud homework only. I have mentioned how my recent return to reading books has inspired me and he sees me reading to myself, but I need some books with humor and attention getters to move him towards lit instead of screens. Help!
