I really want to get into reading, but I honestly don’t know what my genre is 😭
I’ve read quite a few books but only ended up loving 2–3 of them.

    Some books I really enjoyed~

It Ends With Us (I know it’s controversial, but it’s the only Colleen Hoover book I actually liked)
Can We Be Strangers Again (way too good)
Tea shop at narkanda (an underrated one )
Based on this, can someone recommend books I might enjoy?

I recently read “The Lion Women of Tehran”. I thought it was a beautifully written and timely piece I’ll include the synopsis for you.

      Synopsis:

The Lion Women of Tehran is a novel about a lifelong, complex friendship between two Iranian girls, Ellie and Homa, set against decades of political turmoil in Tehran, from the 1950s to the present day; it explores themes of class, love, betrayal, courage, and the fight for freedom as their paths diverge and intertwine through revolution, family changes, and personal struggles, culminating in their eventual reconnection in America.

This is one of the best books I have read all year. It will leave you laughing in some places and absolutely devastated in others, but I could not recommend it more.

I do want to add a CW for sexual assault. While I don’t recall the assault itself being detailed in the novel, I do remember there being explicit mentions of rape/ assault about midway through the book. It is mentioned once or twice.
