In dire need of some book recommendations for my library’s reading challenge!!!

I am attempting to complete my library's reading challenge but I've been stuck on finding a book I want to read for the category – "a book about an athlete".

I'm having trouble with this category because I'm not that interested in reading a biography about an athlete or a "realistic" drama fiction book that would focus too much about sports. I'd be interested if it was a genre such as horror, sci-fi, or fantasy etc. (no romance though). For example something more 'Him" (2025) than Rocky, if that makes any sense. I also think it's possible to cheat, just a little, and have a book where the main character is an athlete but the sports doesn't have much to do with it. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thank you 🙂
