Hi folks, about 15 to 20 years ago I read a novel, the only detail of which I remember is that there was a door which would appear out at sea, reachable only when the sea receded. Further, the appearance of the door and the sea receding would only occur when someone in a plane flying above the location of the door would look down and view the door / coastal location from above.
I asked a few different AIs but they couldn’t help track it down. They suggested The Breach by Patrick Lee, but I don’t think that was it (although the nature of the door sounds identical).
Any ideas?
