I don’t like thrillers or mysteries, but John leCarre’s The Spy who Came in from the Cold is fantastic.
I also don’t read much horror but loved Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant.

Not a fan of sci-fi, but the Murderbot Diaries series was one of my top reads for 2025.

I like historical fiction but not really for the military aspects. But I loved the entire Bernard Cornwell The Last Kingdom book series and really every book is about battles and battle plans and military strategy and I just ate it all up. It helps that he’s such a good writer, with memorable characters and sly humor.

Didn’t think I would enjoy a Western, but just finished Lonesome Dove and I see now why everyone loves it!

I don’t read crime thrillers but “Pretty Girls” by Karin Slaughter absolutely gripped me and I still think about it several years on. It really kept me guessing.

I normally dislike sci-fi but I loved “Flowers for Algernon” by Daniel Keyes

Definitely not really into horror or apocalypse novels, but holy crap was The Passage (Justin Cronin) the most unputdownable book I read this year.
