I’m looking for book suggestions for my teen daughter (17). She does not enjoy reading. I need a modern-ish book for her to read for English 4.
She enjoyed Harry Potter back in the day.
She finds romance cringey and hard to read.
She would not enjoy a biography or biography style story.
She draws in her spare time. Maybe an art or artist based story?
Her reading level and comprehension is high level, but because of ADHD she struggles with retaining information.
Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly welcomed!

My name is Asher Lev
If she likes crime movies or NCIS style shows I would highly recommend James Pattertsons Bookshots. They’re short stories around 150 pages or less and he has a ton of them out there pretty cheap to buy too.
The Cinder chronicles by Marissa Meyer is a fantastic teen series no adult content, familiar tropes, romance isn’t a huge part of the plot either. It’s a complete series too! It’s a retelling of Cinderella in a fantasy setting.
You could try setting her up with audiobooks they’re on most music subscriptions now and it’s an easy way to digest the story if her ADHD makes it difficult to sit down and read traditionally. I know my friend with ADHD loves audiobooks
is she treated for adhd?
reading was quite impossible for me to enjoy before i started medication, because it was a monumental and exhausting effort to put so much work into focusing on the book
