I love reading books where there are lots of connected characters and we get to see them grow and change, their relationships get progressively more tangled and complicated, they experience challenges, tragedies, successes etc., over years of their lives (I adored Demon Copperhead for this).
I'm looking for a book like this where the common thread that ties together all the characters is the specific place where they grew up, and the impact it had on them. Like if they all grew up on the same street or in the same apartment building, or went to the same school, and how the formative experience of being in this place stays with them throughout their lives. I'm sure there are many like this but I can't seem to remember any off the top of my head.
Any suggestions that might scratch this particular itch for me? Thanks folks!
