I saw a tiktok ages ago of a woman reading a book like this in bed, I think it was about space, saying these types of books are elite for bedtime, but I don’t know what they’re called. It looked like such a luxury item to treat yourself to, and like it would be aesthetically pleasing and calming to browse before bed, I’ve been craving one but never know what to search for
Like big A4 books, probably hardback, that you can dip in and out of, with lots of photos/illustrations
I don’t mean a coffee table book that’s mostly pictures, I want to learn things while reading, just casually
I suppose the same sort of text to picture ratio as national geographic
Or like an encyclopedia vibe but about specific topics
Is this a thing? What would I search for?
I’d like to learn about anthropology/culture, sciencey topics, nature, history (but not with gory/dusturbing photos), those sorts of mind-broadening topics that make you feel like the world is huge and fascinating and your problems aren’t as big as they feel
