Looking for something gripping but not too dark. Something sweet or cozy would also be nice. I’m a fast reader so something long or a series is ideal.

    Books i liked
    – most books by Brandon Sanderson
    – anything by Dustin Thao but they’re so short
    – a little life but way too traumatic right now
    – Thursday murder club series and I also finished the most recent one
    – demon cycle series by Peter Brett
    – six of crows series by Leigh Bardugo
    – anxious people by Frederik Backman but didn’t like
    Man called Ove.

Bonus points if the book is gay or has a major gay character.

Heard good things about Rick Riordan but not sure if it’s too YA for me.

I really enjoyed the Southern Vampire series by Charlaine Harris. This is the series that True Blood, the old HBO series, is based on. Easy reading, but fun. Lots of books in the series.

If you’d like humor with a side of ridiculous, I love Christopher Moore. My favorite is Lamb, but there are so many. As an artist, I particularly loved Sacre Bleu.

If you might like something a little more luxurious, but still compelling, some of my other favorites are In the Company Of the Courtesan and The Birth of Venus by Sarah Dunant. Historical fictions set in Italy. Period pieces that touch on the Bonfire Of the Vanities and other events, respectively.

Project Hail Mary, if you haven’t read it already, is excellent, and long.

I hope your confinement is restorative and helpful and peaceful.

Ooh. I forgot Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. The main character is intersex. This is a story about a family, going back to the grandparents immigration from Italy to US. I love this book, too.

Have you read Song of Achilles? Circe?
