Book that makes me Question what I know about love
Something on the lines of unrequited or anything just something different. Something that'll make me close the book pause and think.
P.S: I dont really read. Trying to get into a habbit.
Gonna go ahead and get ahead of this by saying if you have any particular trigger warnings you’d need to avoid, identify them ahead of time so I can tell you whether or not this is actually a good suggestion for you.
But right now, I’m reading *A Little Life* by Hanya Yanagihara, and I can confidently tell you that it is absolutely making me question what I know about love, or at the very least, how various people perceive love, in every sense from romantic to platonic to familial.
It’s not a happy book. There are some happy, downright joyful moments (I’m about 60% of the way through now), but the opposite side of the coin is… well it’s horrifying. But it absolutely does make me put the book down and think.
Regardless of trigger warnings, this is one of those “recommend a book that will make me cry” books. The funny thing is that it happens for both positive and negative reasons, not just one or the other. So if that’s not your bag, then carry on and don’t pursue this suggestion any further.

If you’re into nonfiction, check out bell hooks “about love” series. “All About Love” is the most famous and a general intro to her thoughts. There’s also “The Will to Change: Men, Masculinity and Love” and “Communion: The Female Search for Love.”
I read “All About Love” way earlier than I should have and definitely didn’t understand a lot of it, but I credit it with helping me stay out of unhealthy relationships even as someone with really low self esteem.
