My 14yo niece is asking for books on psychology. She specified disorders, social psychology, anxiety, communication/social skills, and personality.
I'd love to get her something that meets her interests but also helps her build resilience and independence, as I'm particularly worried about her and her sister (their mom is quite controlling and always needs to perform and be the center of attention. Also they're homeschooled and pretty religious).
Not a book about surviving emotionally immature patents, since I'm not sure she feels that way about her mom. But something that she can learn from so that she can draw boundaries and develop a strong sense of self
(Its also almost guaranteed my nieces have some kind of neurodivergence as my entire family, including their mom, has diagnosed ADHD)
