Y’all I’m so sick of self-destructive pining. Is there anything that has queer rep but it isn’t the main focus of the book? I love books that have these relationships but the couple is trying to solve a mystery of some kind.
Here are some examples for reference:
Dead & Breakfast
The House on the Cerulean Sea (kind of)
Can’t Spell Treason without Tea

Even Though I Knew the End by C. L. Polk
Natasha Pulley writes beautiful queer rep novels. The romance is rarely the focus of the story but subtly woven in around it. The Half Life of Valery K or The Watchmaker of Filigree St would both be good ones to start with.
