Books (preferably historical fiction)that feel like a drag path by twenty one pilots edit

Y'all know the edits on TikTok where it shows the animals from around the world or fossils and they edit it to that song 🥹 like their leaving behind behind parts of themselves as proof they existed. I rally want to read books with that feeling and I'm feeling prehistoric or books about fossils. No non functions pls or YA I don't rally like those genres
