Really loved Comyns matter of fact writing style. I am enjoying that very realist manner of writing with the subtle magical realism elements. A similar one, in a way, that I just read and loved was The Wall by Marlen Haushofer. Both of those are from the 50s so maybe any recs from that era? Preferable to female authors but that’s not a super hard requirement. I do tend to lean towards feminist lit though. Looking for something that maybe is a “classic” but isn’t necessarily a standard on an English lit syllabus, if that makes sense.
Did a recent re-read of Kafkas collected works which I really enjoyed as well as I Who Have Never Known Men.
