Anyone read this, by Poul Anderson?
I know there is the original book he wrote, came out in the early 50s. Author was young, used a lot of, idk (haven’t read it, yet!), interesting or maybe archaic phrasing…. A lot of violence. Supposedly a classic – some people prefer it to LotR.
Anyway in the early 70s he released a revised version. Not sure what or how much was changed – some of the old language, maybe less violence?
I know Richard K Morgan and a lot of other authors I admire and enjoy have said great stuff about this book….
Anyone familiar with it? Which version should I read? Despite the author asserting the supremacy of the revision, idk. I feel like the original is the way to go.
