Hello! I’m a filmmaker writing a project based around a Christian character who desperately attempts to communicate with God at the cost of their own well
being. Are there any books (fiction or non-fiction) that explore that process of transcendence, particularly in Christianity? Or even books that explore how faith drives people to extremes?
I’m not looking for any Christian self-help style books or corny coffee table books about Christianity. The author doesn’t even have to be Christian themselves. Just some great texts that can help me better understand the psyche of someone dedicated to contacting God. Thanks!
